My name is Shannon, and I am the owner of Modern Balance, LLC. I live in South Florida, and I am the proud mother of two young girls who have stolen my heart and given me a few gray hairs along the way. I am a lover of numbers and problem solving which I believe makes me a great bookkeeper. Two strengths of mine are organization and attention to detail. Strengths or obsessions? Eh, either way those are good things, right?
I started my career as a legal assistant, and over the last 20 years that evolved into also being the office manager and bookkeeper for the firm. Yes, I worked at the same firm for more than 20 years! That’s dedication. During that time, I completed several bookkeeping courses to solidify my knowledge. Then in 2018, I decided to branch out and start Modern Balance. I am a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and have obtained certification in both QuickBooks Online and Xero. I also received certification in several integrative applications which make working with me a breeze. Recently, I was elected to be the 2019-2020 Treasurer for my local chapter of the American Business Women's Association. I am honored to be a part of this wonderful organization and volunteer my services.
